Rides
We organise rides to suit all ages and abilities, with the emphasis on enjoyment. We are not a racing club but arrange rides of varying distances and at different speeds to meet the needs of all of our members.
Our Day Rides are usually held on a Saturday or Sunday and start from either the Co-op car park in Bolsover or in front of the Town Hall steps in Chesterfield. Our location means that we have a great variety of destinations (and terrain!) to choose from, whether it be West into the Peak District or East into Nottinghamshire and our programme of rides tends to reflect this variety. Several of our rides are also arranged to meet up with other cycling clubs in our area.
Many
of our members are keen Audax riders and several Audax events are included in our Rides List. These events can be booked via the club's Audax Secretary with the added benefit that you can be assured of the company of fellow club riders during the event.
As well as day rides, we also organise several Hostel weekends throughout the year. These make use of either YHA or Independent Hostels and allow us to explore different parts of the country. As well as cycling, some of these events also include the opportunity for walking as several of our members are keen ramblers.
For 2006 we are also organising a touring holiday to France using the Bike Express.
